7 Myths And Truths About Binary Options Trading

One of the great things about myths is that you can usually find a nice selection of contradictions... so let's explore a few:

It's more profitable to trade Forex than binary options

A lot of people seem to hold this view but, at the end of the day, it really depends on what you're trying to achieve and how you're trying to achieve it. You *could* open a Forex trade and strike lucky - trends in Forex can run for thousands of pips in some cases, so riding one of those can be very profitable. However, riding a trend for those big bucks can mean you need to stay in the trade for weeks, months or even years.

That's clearly not what we're looking to do with binary options - the tactic here is to get in and get out with a good gain in the shortest reasonable time - 60 seconds in our case - and, then use compounding of profits to maximize your returns. By doing that, binary options becomes a lot more profitable than Forex.

It's hard to trade binary options

I think we've already shown that nothing could be further from the truth - with only two options available, you just need to click a button and you're done. Not just that, you have fixed risk and fixed reward so you always know where you are ... there's no second-guessing ... no "Price is going against me - should I close out?" - no "Hey - I'm up 3 pips - should I bank that profit before it disappears?". Brokers trade against you

You would not believe how often I hear this and it's just so wrong. What actually happens is this... brokers work on probabilities - the obvious one being that some people will think price is going up and some will think it's going down. All they have to do (well, all their servers have to do) is match up clients betting up against clients betting down ... it really doesn't matter to them who wins because they always collect the difference.

Take a simple example where one trader places a $10 CALL and another places a $10 PUT.

If the price went up then the trader who placed the CALL would win $7 but the trader who placed the PUT would lose $10 ... that means the brokerage earned the $3 difference for matching up the traders - this is exactly how all traded markets work. Speculators speculate and the broker gets paid for being matchmaker.

You can make more money trading longer timeframes

Sorry to burst your bubble - your chances of winning longer-term binary option trades like 15 minute, 60 minute and daily binary options is no better or worse than short-term options such as 60 second binary options if you trade an appropriate strategy. The difference is that you're forced to trade less so, if your strategy works, longer-term options actually force you to be less profitable!

You need to trade a lot of currency pairs in order to make money with binary options

If you think for a moment then you'll quickly realize that this is another fallacy - when you try to trade too many pairs then you simply can't focus on what you're doing so, rather than making you profitable, try to trade lots of pairs actually has the opposite effect.

It's impossible to make money across all major trading sessions

Louisiana SPCA resumes providing animal control services for New Orleans

The SPCA has furnished the services for more than 60 years, but the two sides recently broke off talks on a new agreement because the organization said it could not provide services for the $1.7 million the city was offering in 2011.

Under the new agreement, the city has agreed to increase that figure to $1.92 million.
"This is a big win for the residents and animals of New Orleans," Landrieu said. "As was done with so many other contracts, our negotiations have been guided by my fiduciary responsibility to secure quality services for a price the city can afford. The LA/SPCA has been providing quality animal control and enforcement services for decades. As great community partners, their board, volunteers and donors have stepped up. We are pleased to have a fiscally responsible agreement in place for the next four years."
"The LA/SPCA is nationally recognized for the standards we set in animal care and sheltering," said Ana Zorrilla, CEO of the LA/SPCA. "We look forward to continuing these high quality services our citizens have come to expect for the animals of New Orleans."
Under the new agreement, the LA/SPCA will be paid $160,000 per month, or $1.92 million annually, for full animal control services, with annual consumer price index adjustments each January.

340-Year-Old Bible Found in Wisconsin Church

340-year-old Bible was discovered in a Wisconsin church last week, according to local reports.

At the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, Wisc., the Bible was discovered after being tucked away in a kitchen pantry that was rarely used and had stored away old books and texts for decades, WSAW Channel 7 reported. The book was stashed away in a safe in the pantry.

"We don't know how we got it. We don't know how it got into the safe. We've been asking some of our elderly folks and people in the nursing home and nobody seems to remember," Rev. Timothy Shoup from St. Paul Lutheran Church told the news station.

Last year, a teacher came across the Bible and showed it to Shoup. The reverend added up the Bible's Roman numerals to 1670, but he thought that he must have miscalculated.

The hand-pressed Bible is not from the United States, but was printed in Nuremberg, Germany.


According to WFRV Channel 5, the Bible is still in excellent condition despite its age. The church will take special measures to preserve it even better for the future.

"It's amazing," Rev. Shoup told Channel 5. "I mean the pages are crisp. It's not like stuff is falling all apart. A couple of the pages are loose but it's in nice condition."

The book does not only feature text, but also detailed illustrations.

"Each time I see an illustration like this, I just think of how beautiful it looks and how much of a labor of love it must have been for the person who actually drew it," Lyle Buettner, a worker with the Special Collections at Concordia Seminary Library, told Fox Channel 11.

It was set visit day yesterday, with a group excursion to the sets of Lopez Tonight, Conan, Cougar Town, Parks and Recreation and Criminal Minds spin-off Criminal Minds. The morning began on the Warner Bros. lot set of Lopez Tonight with George Lopez and new executive producer Bob Morton, who had the following to say about season two:”

“I think when the show started, it was approached more as a talk show, and we basically said we wanted to do comedy, especially with Conan coming on. So we pretty much just refocused everything. The comedy pieces we’ve made, I think, are a lot stronger, a lot quicker-paced, as is the overall pace of the show. Before I was here they were going a little longer. And the one thing I learned — one of many things that I learned from David Letterman – was these things have to have a sense of urgency. And that feeling of the live show just creates an energy that you can’t get any way else.”

 

Next up was Conan’s new talker, with Conan O’Brien and executive producer Jeff Ross. Said Conan about working for TBS:

“I came to this show thinking I just want to go for it in every single way creatively, and I don’t want to over-think things. If someone has an idea and it sounds like, gee, I haven’t seen that before, we try it. And what’s nice is we are partnered with people who have encouraged us since day one. The people at TBS have made it very clear that we want you to do what you think is funny and what you enjoy doing, and I think that’s led to a feeling here of experimentation in silliness.

 

The crew, the staff, a lot of the people in their early twenties who are working on the show, we’ve all been through something in the last year, and so there’s sort of a spirit. There’s a little pirate-ship feeling to this show, which I love. Everybody has it because we all went through it. None of us knew what was going to happen, were we going to get other jobs, how were we going to make it through this thing. We stuck together. We did. And that creates a real strong dynamic here at the show that I think is coming through on television.”
